The Story of an authentic espresso: from Nonno Sebastiano to Luca, an italian tradition
It all began in 1959, when Nonno Sebastiano, newly arrived in Switzerland, became an ardent defender of the art of Italian espresso. As for Nonna Maria, she followed in his footsteps whenever she had the chance. The ritual was unchanging: a beautiful, well-worn Bialetti Moka, a small manual grinder, some coffee beans and the magic could begin.
Faithful to this family tradition, Luca has never parted with this little coffee maker, even on his travels, creating unexpected moments of conviviality. Like the time when Edmundo, a coffee farmer in the Intag region of Ecuador, discovered the taste of his own coffee prepared in an Italian Moka.
In short, Caffettino represents this family passion. Every cup we serve perpetuates our quest for authenticity, reflecting our deep attachment to and gratitude for this very Italian culture, which begins every morning with that magic phrase: ‘un caffettino per favore’.
